Frequently asked questions
Why does Markdown look wrong in Slack?
Slack does not use standard Markdown: **bold** shows literally and [text](url) links are not recognized. This converter rewrites them to Slack syntax.
What happens to headings and tables?
Slack has no headings or tables, so headings become bold lines and tables become aligned text inside a code block.
Can I use the output with the Slack API?
Yes. The output is valid mrkdwn for chat.postMessage text, incoming webhooks, and Block Kit text objects with type "mrkdwn".
Is my text uploaded?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser.
